Hello there! My name is Alana Shields.

I am a cheerful, energetic, and youthful performer from the Kansas side of the Kansas City area! I am currently based in Springfield, Missouri where I am finishing up my degree at Missouri State University. I will graduate this Spring with my BFA in Musical Theatre, a Dance Minor, and an Acting on Camera Certificate.

I fell in love with dance all the way back in Kindergarten ballet, and then fell in love with theatre altogether when I was enrolled my first princess-themed theatre camp in the 3rd grade. It has been my biggest passion ever since! I value creative freedom, artistic expression and working as a team. I love nothing more than to share stories with an audience, especially in a group of dedicated artists.

Theatre and performing is my favorite thing in the world. Some other things that make this list are listening to a lot of different music, visiting the movie theatre (proud AMC Stubs A List member!), trying a new coffee shop, thrifting clothes, exploring National Parks, cheering on the Chiefs, and laughing with my friends.

I’m also a proud Type 1 Diabetic! I was diagnosed in 2018, almost 8 years ago now. I am very passionate about advocating for my community and proving that diabetes does not prevent me from pursuing my dreams!
